Thursday, 9 July 2026: The South African Communist Party (SACP) conveys its message of support and well wishes to the entire membership of the Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA) for their 7th National Congress to be held on 10–12 July 2026 in the BG Molewa District, Moses Kotane Province (North West).

The YCLSA 7^th National Congress is held under the theme “Youth to the Front: Rescue the NDR, Advance Towards People’s Power”.

The SACP applauds the leadership of the YCLSA 6th Congress for their contribution to the revolution in their respective capacities and leading the league to their next congress. We urge the delegates to conduct themselves in a disciplined manner as they travel as well as during and after the congress.

The YCLSA holds its 7th National Congress in the year when millions of the people of South Africa, the majority being the working class, will be taking part in the local government elections in which the SACP will be independently contesting. We encourage the YCLSA to capacitate themselves to make their contribution towards the SACP elections programme.

Over the above, the overarching task of the upcoming leadership is to ensure that the aspirations of the youth, especially the working-class youth, are championed without compromise. This falls on their twin task of mobilising young people under the banner of socialism and championing their aspirations. The never-ending task of the youth, as Vladimir Lenin said, is to learn, learn and learn! The YCLSA must ensure that young people put education as a priority and that in whatever sphere they find themselves they aspire to grow through acquiring knowledge.

As the SACP, we wish the YCLSA a peaceful and successful 7th National Congress.
