Bitter Helen Zille's tried to storm COSATU House – is hypocritical

The South African Communist Party sees Helen Zille's intended march on the Head Quarters of COSATU as opportunism and double standards, but even more significant as a sign that DA has gained enough confidence to finally unmask its disguise about whose interest ultimately it exists to serve. In the past the DA has denied that it is a proxy representative of big business, a face of the atrocious capitalist system of oppression and exploitation responsible retrenchment and casualisation of workers. In an effort to mislead South Africans DA has sought to present itself as a party that cares for the poor whereas in reality it favours policies that create poverty and inequality in society.

SACP statement on the 17 injured people

The SACP is angered about the reported stampede at the Pretoria’s main Bosman train station wherein 17 people were injured. The SACP has for years been worried and campaigning for a safe, reliable and integrated public transport system. It is not for the first time that there are problems being experienced at the Pretoria train station.

SACP Eastern Cape PEC Press statement

The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Eastern Cape Province notes with great concern the startling level of high job losses and unemployment in our province as issued by Statistics South Africa. The SACP is gravely disturbed to learn this sad reality that the level of unemployment has reached 28% in our beloved province, as this current job losses happened in the face of the escalating cost of living for the workers and the poor.

SACP and COSATU KZN bilateral media statement

The South African Communist Party and COSATU in the province of Kwazulu Natal held a bilateral meeting on Monday 6th May 2012 which took place in Pinetown. The bilateral was attended by both Provincial Executive Committees of these two worker formations. The bilateral meeting was characterised by high unity, robust and vibrant debates of the two organisations in Kwazulu Natal. This was seen as the product of close and healthy working relationship between the two organisations. The meeting deliberated on a number of issues, nationally and provincially, particularly those that are daily impacting on the lives of the working class and the vulnerable.
