Statement of Gauteng SACP PEC held on 5 September 2010 in Johannesburg
The PEC of the SACP in Gauteng met in Johannesburg on 5 September 2010. The meeting analysed the current balance of forces and also spent time on strikes in the public and private sector. The PEC also had an opportunity to engage inputs from two MEC’s in the economic cluster who were invited to the meeting namely; MEC for Economic Development (Firoz Cachalia) and MEC for Finance (Mandla Nkomfe). The emphasis on these inputs was a need for a new economic paradigm and growth path within the context of a developmental state that will drive our development agenda.
Gauteng SACP press statement in support of the Public Service strike
The SACP in Gauteng is fully behind the public service strike and is convinced that the demands of the workers are legitimate. We have thus far taken it upon ourselves to mobilize the rest of civil society and our communities to understand and support this action.
Statement of the SACP Central Committee
The Central Committee of the SACP met in Johannesburg over the weekend of 27th-29th August. The public service strike and the SACP`s position and responsibilities in this regard were discussed at some length. The CC also engaged with some of the ANC`s discussion papers for its forthcoming National General Council, and the challenge of media transformation.

As the SACP in the Eastern Cape we have noted the outburst and unnecessary attacks on our Party and our General Secretary Dr Blade Nzimande by the ANCYL President Julius Malema during the last weekend Youth League Provincial Conference.
