The South African Communist Party (SACP) conveys its heartfelt message of solidarity to Godrich Gardee and his family on the passing of his daughter, Hillary Gardee (28).
Having been missing since Friday 29 April 2022, Hillary’s body was discovered a few days later, pointing to a clear case of murder. The SACP calls for thorough investigation of the murder, and for the perpetrators to be brought to book.
The cruel way Hillary lost her life points to the undeniable scourge of gender-based violence and femicide, which continues to permeate our society. Gender-based violence and femicide must be eradicated altogether with their root causes, including through bringing to justice those who commit the crimes.
