The South African Communist Party (SACP) in Mpumalanga Province congratulates the matric class of 2022 in the province for improved results, obtained under difficult conditions because of load-shedding, the COVID-19 pandemic, crime and violence, all affecting schools.
Education remains a societal issue that can change life for better for children of the workers and poor and their families. It is against this background that the SACP reiterates its condemnation of crime and corruption driven by tenderpreneurs and other private interests.
The 2022 achievements made by Mpumalanga Province demonstrate the importance of united action by teachers, learners, parents, guardians and sponsors.
By intensifying the quality of learning and teaching, the province will further improve the quality of its results, we believe.
We want to encourage those who did not achieve the minimum requirements to pass not to despair but to consider going back to school and trying harder. Alternatively, there are many other avenues for the development of human life to the future.
We would like to send our word of appreciation to the educators for the good job they are doing, particularly educators coming from the rural District of Bohlabela for producing leading results and forming part of the best of the best in the country. We are certain other districts take their cue from Bohlabela.
The other best achiever we would like to send a special appreciation to is Bathobile Nkambule who comes from a deep rural area in Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality. She has managed to achieve being the best learner in the province and forming part of the top 10 learners in the country. We send our congratulations to her together with all other top achievers and wish them well in their endeavours.
While Mpumalanga Province is on a growth trajectory and building confidence to all stakeholders in the education sector, it is worth noting that there are elements dedicated at continuing to sabotage the stability in the Provincial Education Department for their business interests through corrupt means by trying to mobilise society to revolt.
The SACP is also disturbed by the prophets of doom who are driven by their uncontrolled ambitions to get to the Executive by dragging the name of the MEC for Education to the mud and calling him names. We are aware of their agenda and the manner in which they are co-ordinated. It is a matter of time before the SACP exposes what they are trying to achieve and take the people of Mpumalanga Province into its confidence about the damage they have already caused in various municipal areas.
The SACP Mpumalanga Province applauds the Executive of the Mpumalanga Provincial Government, the Portfolio Committees, municipalities and all community members who have worked hard around the clock to ensure better performance towards higher quality education.
