The South African Communist Party (SACP) in Moses Mabhida Province (KwaZulu-Natal) welcomes the decision of the African National Congress (ANC) Provincial Executive Committee in KwaZulu Natal on the implementation of its decision on comrades who are in a prosecutorial process to step aside until they are cleared. We further welcome the decision that such matters be referred to the Provincial Integrity Commission. We salute the ANC in KwaZulu Natal for self-correcting and demonstration of maturity, boldness and sensitivity. As the SACP in the province, we will stand by the outcomes that have since been taken by the leadership of the ANC in the Province in this regard.
We believe that this will go a long way to restore the confidence of the people to the ANC. We now expect the ANC to be consistent in the application of its own decisions on similar cases in order to avoid unnecessary public outcry.
The SACP in Moses Mabhida will continue to support, engage and offer constructive criticism to our fellow alliance partner. Such constructive criticism and self-criticism will ensure that the mass democratic movement remains above all of us who subject ourselves to the discipline and leadership of the ANC.
