The South African Communist Party (SACP) in Gauteng Province welcomes Premier David Makhura's most comprehensive, detailed, honest and frank account of the last five (5) years on the excellent and remarkable achievements of the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG).
Premier Makhura has also well acknowledged the setbacks, weaknesses and challenges that constitute a set of new tasks for the next administration.
We fully agree that the GPG vision of Transformation, Modernisation and Re-Industrialisation otherwise known as the TMR, has proven to be a profound, dynamic and timely intervention for the working class and the poor of our province in the midst of massive poverty, unemployment and inequalities worsened by the world crisis of the capitalist system in the last few years.
We are indeed in full agreement that the collective expressions of state organs in our province, embedded in the TMR vision, has sustained the capacity of the province to guarantee a high quality of life for the working class and poor. Through the TMR, our province has successfully absorbed the contradictions of the national and continental crisis of capitalism vividly seen in the high net migration effect into the province.
We deeply appreciate the revolutionary posture of the GPG as the custodian and lead champion of the ethical, moral and clean administration against corporate capture of the state, corruption, looting and maladministration.
We welcome the set of instruments and capacity of the state to protect and defend public resources to direct them to serve the working and the poor in the province.
We further welcome the fact that the SOPA has build on the overwhelming momentum of Thuma-mina and thus resonates very well with the key messages of the new dawn embodied in the leadership of President Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa.
We are convinced that the SOPA has consolidated the revolutionary people's camp in our province and has pushed far back the frontiers of counter-revolution currently marauding in the Cities of Tshwane and Johannesburg.
We believe that a lot has been achieved and the foundation has been laid in the last five years to consolidate, defend and advance the National Democratic Revolution (NDR). We are confident that Premier Makhura's SOPA has laid the basis for a decisive ANC electoral victory on the 08th May 2019.
