The South African Communist Party (SACP) and its class ally the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) have concluded the first phase of the 2019 Voter Readiness Campaign with a resoundingly successful blitz in the Vereeniging city centre in Sedibeng this weekend.
As part of the campaign SACP and COSATU Red Brigades have been engaging community members inner cities across the province to ready themselves for the 2019 National and Provincial Elections, by ensuring that their documents and addresses are in order and that they appear on the voters' roll.
The campaign started in August in the Johannesburg CBD, and moved to the Kempton Park and Tshwane CBD's in September. This month the campaign painted the CBD's of Germiston, Randfontein and Vereeniging red.
The campaign will enter its second phase and will now move to all major townships across the Gauteng province starting in November.
