SACP Gauteng to march against Emfuleni Municipal Capture on Friday, 19th October 2018

4 October 2018

The South African Communist Party (SACP) in Gauteng Province will stage an anti-municipal corporate capture march on the 19th of October in Emfuleni Municipality as part of its 2018 Red October Campaign. The protest march seeks to finally expose the class forces and parasitic networks that presided over the systemic capture and rampant corruption dating back many years and have now brought the municipality to its knees.

We are deeply concerned and worried that these class forces and parasitic networks tend to use and apply the same tactics and modus operandi that bears great resemblance to the Guptarisation phenomena.

We believe that instead of merely focusing on the various political factions that tend to merely act like the executive committee, managing the common affairs of these apparent Gupta-linked class forces, we should also directly expose and confront the real class enemies behind the collapse of the municipality.

We further believe that only a consistent class approach will finally ensure that the municipality is totally freed from the captive corrupt activities of the Gupta-type benefactors and their puppet factions directly feeding from the municipal loot.

We are convinced that any intervention, however well intended, will only serve to further feed the accumulation regime of the real Emfuleni Samurai.

We are also deeply encouraged by the bold, decisive and timely release of the investigation report by the Executive Mayor, comrade Jacob Khawe.
