SACP Gauteng Welcomes Provincial Government`s bold decision to cut ties with Gupta linked monopoly consulting firms
14 June 2018
The South African Communist Party (SACP) Gauteng welcomes the bold decision by the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) to cut all ties with Gupta linked consultants KPMG and Mckinsey as part of pushing back the frontiers of corporate capture of the state.
GPG announced yesterday that it will review and terminate contracts with the two companies that are under investigation for unethical business practice linked to the corporate capture of the state.
We also commend the decision to pay close attention on German IT monopoly SAP whose contract expires end of November this year, and we hope this contract will not be renewed, extended or a new one concluded.
This decisive leadership under the stewardship of Premier David Makhura is a huge victory for the fight against the Gupta-type of corruption and maladministration in the Provincial Government. We welcome the decision to cut ties with these monopolies considering our picket protest that we held at the KPMG head quarters in Parktown in October 2017.
We will continue to support efforts to intensify the struggle against the marauding parasitic networks of corporate capture of the state. We are firmly convinced that these revolutionary and decisive interventions to dismantle the lingering remnants of corporate capture of the state advance and consolidate the new dawn and wave of hope towards an electoral triumph towards 2019.
