SACP Eastern Cape statement on the factional cabinet reshuffle
17 October 2017
As the South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Eastern Cape, we join our Central Committee in rejecting the factional cabinet reshuffle announced by President Jacob Zuma. The factional removal of Comrade Blade Nzimande as the Minister of Higher Education and Training is indeed a direct attack to the SACP and desperate move to consolidate the machinery for looting of public resources for President Zuma, his family and friends, including the toxic Gupta family.
It is our considered view that to lose a position for standing on the side of the people and the truth, should be a badge of honour which all those who love South Africa and her people should be more willing to wear. We remain undeterred in our principled resolved to fight against corruption and corporate capture of our state to ensure that the public resources to be used to benefit the people of South Africa as a whole.
We salute our General Secretary, Comrade Blade Nzimande for his meaningful contribution in establishing a completely new department that has secured a clean audit over the years and has established a firm foundation for the transformation of the higher education in our country.
Our country's resources, our country's sovereignty or death! We are destined for victory.
Issued by the SACP Eastern Cape.
