SACP Gauteng Province Calls for the speedy arrest of Chris Nkosi killers

26 April 2015

The SACP Gauteng Province calls on the law enforcement authorities to ensure the urgent arrest of the perpetrators involved in the assassination of Comrade Chris Nkosi. Comrade Nkosi was gunned down last week by unknown assassins in a what is suspected to be a planned elimination. He was laid to rest yesterday in his hometown of Fernie in Mpumalanga province.

Comrade Nkosi received a dignified send off attended by alliance leadership including the SACP National Chairperson and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Comrade Senzeni Zokwana, the NOB`s of SATAWU led by the President, Cosatu leaders from various provinces and the Gauteng SACP Provincial Secretary Comrade Jacob Mamabolo. The funeral was also overwhelmingly attended by militant workers coming from all over the province and his hometown, who turned up to lay to rest a working class hero who put down his life fighting for principles of the international working class movement.

As we had just laid Comrade Nkosi to rest, we once more call on police to intensify their investigation and ensure that they bring all perpetrators to book and that the family of comrades of Chris Nkosi is granted justice by ensuring that the entire truth regarding the circumstances of his assassination is revealed.

The SACP will work with its alliance partners in ensuring that the investigation surrounding the murder of Comrade Chris Nkosi is swiftly concluded.
