SACP Mpumalanga disappointed at The New Age distortion

SACP Mpumalanga disappointed at The New Age distortion

28 August 2014

The South African Communist Party (SACP) in Mpumalanga Province is disappointed at a distortion by The New Age Newspaper. Mr France Nyaka, the journalist, in his online article dated 28 August 2014 (12:40am) misquotes the 2nd Deputy Provincial Secretary Mandla Tibane as saying "The government must also subsidise the PUTCO bus company in order to have a comprehensive transport system". On the contrary, Comrade Mandla on our behalf called for government to give subsidy to the taxi industry.

We have since contacted the journalist who said he will come back to us. We will make follow ups with The New Age to seek correction and retraction. In the event of no correction and retraction are made we will have no option but to ultimately approach the Press Ombudsman for remedial action.
