As the SACP in the Eastern Cape we have noted the outburst and unnecessary attacks on our Party and our General Secretary Dr Blade Nzimande by the ANCYL President Julius Malema during the last weekend Youth League Provincial Conference.

We have since taken a view that we will not be responding to comrade Julius in line with our decision to desist from any form of public spats between alliance components and the broader movement. In the light of these developments we wish to place our full confidence to our alliance national leadership and the leadership of the ANC in particular as a leader of the alliance to handle the matter with the seriousness it deserves.

On our part, we commit ourselves for building and safe guarding the unity of our alliance and never to allow anything to divert us from the important task of implementing our five priorities as contained in the election manifesto.
