SACP IN KWAZULU NATAL HOLDS LEKGOTLA TO DISCUSS ELECTIONS AND ANNUAL PROGRAMME

The SACP KZN will be holding its Provincial legotla on 30 Jan to 1 Feb 2004 in Durban. This legotla will be attended by the Provincial and Districts leadership of the SACP in KZN. The General Secretary Comrade Blade Nzimande will deliver a Keynote Address in the meeting. National Secretary of the Young Communist League together with his Deputy Comrade Mazibuko Jara will also address the legotla on the Programmes of the newly re-established YCL.

The following will form the key discussions and deliberations:

1. SACP's programme on the 2004 election campaign in KZN for an ANC overwhelming victory in KZN. This will also involve the future of the coalition government of the ANC/IFP.

2. Implications and the impact on the Communal Land Rights Bill in KZN.

3. Strategies and programmes to built a strong YCL in KZN.

A media briefing will be held after the legotla on Monday 2 February 2004, at 10h00, at the SACP Provincial offices, 6th Floor General Building, 47 Field Street Durban. The members of the media are invited.
