Blade Nzimande to Address Western Cape Provincial Congress

The General Secretary of the South African Communist Party (SACP), Comrade
Blade Nzimande, will deliver the Keynote Address to the 3rd Provincial
Congress of the SACP in the Western Cape Province as detailed below.

DATE : Saturday, 06 October 2001

TIME : 10h45 - 11h45

VENUE : Bellville College of Education, Kuils River, Cape Town

The Congress will start at 08h00 on Saturday and will continue until
lunchtime on Sunday, 26 August. This Congress takes place on the eve of the
SACP's Red October Campaign and the NEDLAC Summit on the Financial Sector.
It also takes place in the immediate aftermath of the mass mobilisation
against privatisation led by COSATU and supported by the SACP.

This Congress will shape our SACP Programme in the Western Cape to build a
people's economy and transform local government so that it serves the people, said Gwebs Qonde, SACP Western Cape Provincial Secretary.

The Congress will discuss how to take forward the Campaign to Make Banks
Serve the People and the task of building the ANC, SACP and COSATU in
Western Cape conditions.
