Mpumalanga SACP to Picket Against Financial Institutions
28 may 2002
The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Mpumalanga Province will
pressurise financial institutions to ensure that the NEDLAC Summit on the
financial sector goes ahead by the end of June.
The Mpumalanga SACP, led by the SACP General Secretary Blade Nzimande,
will picket in front of financial institutions and submit a memorandum as
detailed below:
DATE - Wednesday, 29 May 2002
TIME - 11h00 - 13h00
VENUE - in front ABSA and Standard Bank, Malelane (45km from Nelspruit),
Buffalo Street-Lowrie Street, Malelane
This picket is part of an SACP programme to pressurise financial institutions in order that they stop their delaying tactics at NEDLAC. Up to now the business constituency at NEDLAC has not contributed to meaningful negotiations to ensure that the financial sector in our country is transformed and diversified and that banks serve the people.
