SACP Western Cape Provincial Statement
4 April 1997
A journalist has been leaked internal correspondence and an individuals own
correspondence in connection with the resignation of Narima Teegler from the
position of Deputy Provincial Secretary of the SACP in the Western Cape.
The allegations contained in the letters about the state of the SACP in the
Western Cape and the various officials of the Party are ones the SACP rejects as
baseless. the matter of the resignation has been dealt with by the PEC and is
closed.
What is of concern to the SACP is the constant attempts by so-called
anonymous sources to sow divisions between the Alliance organisations. The
resignation of Narima Teegler is an internal SACP matter and is in no way
related to the Alliance.
As far, as the SACP in the Western Cape is concerned, it and it's members are
committed to building the Alliance. We see any attempt to break the Alliance as
counter-revolutionary. Such elements are a threat to the future of this country
and should be rooted out of the organisation.
