South African Communist Party in Mpumalanga is saddened by the sudden death of Cde Crosby Moni, SACP CC Member.
The SACP in the province sends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and comrades of our fallen revolutionary, to the alliance in the province and the country as a whole. We lost a humbled, disciplined cadre of the movement, an all-round revolutionary, a communist cadre to the front, and a trade unionist.
We acknowledge the remarkable work done by Cde Crosby during his activism in the province, he fought for unity within the alliance, and for his role as a shaft-steward in Maatla Colliery; he never sold the workers and he was hence ultimately elected to lead the NUM Highveld Region as the Regional Chairperson and nationally as Deputy President.
The SACP in Mpumalanga is resilient and continues to fight for working class interests, building on the work started by Cde Crosby and the collective since the unbanning of the Party and its re-launching in the province. Today, the SACP in the province can account for 23 000 members, the testimony of the work done by this humbled revolutionary.
In memory of Cde Crosby the SACP in the province will deepen its work to advance and defend the unity of the alliance, to combat, isolate and defeat lumpen-tenderprenuership within the movement and the state; to build working class hegemony in all key sites of power as mandated by the 13th National Congress.
May his soul rest in peace, Sohlala si`khumbula
