SACP Mpumalanga condemns retrenchment of workers
17 April 2015
Fight against exploitation:
The SACP in Mpumalanga Province noted with dismay the massive retrenchment of security workers in most of the municipalities, clinics and hospitals due to introduction of new security companies that brought new personnel. This act must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. Most of these companies are owned by comrades, who should understand the movements agenda of fighting against the triple challenges of social inequality, unemployment and poverty.
We are calling of the departments responsible to immediately instruct these companies to reverse this uncaring actions.
Investigate the alleged missing R11 million in the feeding scheme nutrition programme:
We are seriously concerned about the alleged resources that could not be accounted for within the Department of Education relating to the Schools Nutrition Programme.
The continuing looting of resources as the missing multi-millions Rands indicates is a direct attack on the programme of our ANC-led government to build a caring society. We are calling on the Hawks to investigate this heartless behavior which can only be an act lumpen tenderpreneurs who will stop at nothing to put their sticky fingers on the public funds.
Scholar Transport:
We reiterate our call to the Mpumalanga Provincial Government to pay what is due to the Scholar Transport Operators.
Our ANC-led government cannot condone a daylight robbery to the working class by those who claim to be public representatives elected by the same masses they oppress and exploit.
We call on the Premier of Mpumalanga DD Mabuza to provide leadership and process the payment of the scholar transport operators.
