SACP Limpopo Province congratulates Stan Mathabatha as Premier
22 July 2013
The South African Communist Party Limpopo Province would like to congratulate Comrade Stan Mathabatha on his deployment as Premier. Comrade Mathabatha is the past immediate SACP Provincial Chairperson, a position he relinquished only when he was deployed as an Ambassador to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2012. He is a veteran of the ANC and SACP whose activist credentials over a number of decades are impeccable. Besides administrative competencies and experience he posses, his uniting capabilities are well known in the entire Alliance structures and the people of Limpopo Province will benefit from such.
Accordingly, the SACP believes that as Premier of Limpopo Comrade Mathabatha will move with speed to ensure that the ANC- led Alliance`s mandate and programme continues to be implemented with full reach according to the interests of the working class and rural masses. Accelerating the implementation of ANC Election Manifesto`s five key priorities should be the primary focus for the Premier and his cabinet:
- Creation of decent work and sustainable livelihoods,
- Education
- Health
- Crime
- Rural development, including land reform, and food production and security.
In addition the SACP believes that Premier Mathabatha should embark on immediate steps to revive public service morale which dwindled to an all time low in the past few years and gear up the public servants back to work full steam. The SACP will not drop the ball on anti-corruption and maladministration that paralysed Limpopo Provincial Administration in the recent period, and we are confident that the new Premier will continue to be a reliable revolutionary cadre to rid the province off these practices that robs the working class and the rural poor of a better life.
The SACP will continue with its full support for all programmes aimed at accelerating service delivery and calls upon the people of Limpopo Province also to continue to be counted in the implementation processes.
