SACP General Secretary to address the Free State 5th Provincial Congress

The Free State Province will be holding its provincial congress from the 19th - 20th May 2007 in Sasolburg. The congress will be attended by close to 200 branch delegates drawn from the SACP branches in the province.
The congress will be held under the theme "South African Road to Socialism" in an endeavour to contribute to the ongoing discussion of deepening working class hegemony in all key site of power.
The General Secretary of the SACP, Cde Blade Nzimande, will address the congress as follows:

Venue: Flavius Mareka College, Sasolburg
The address of the General Secretary will focus on the following key issues:
- The SACP's strategic and programmatic perspectives.
- The Medium Term Vision (MTV), it implementation and challenges in the context of the 12th National Congress.
- The SACP and State power discussion.
- The SACP's position in relation to the pending public sector strike.
- Challenges facing the SACP in the light of the forthcoming 12th National Congress.
Furthermore, the Deputy Chairperson of the ANC, Cde Pat Matosa, and the Provincial Secretary of COSATU, Cde Sam Mashinini will also address congress.
Members of the press are hereby invited to attend the open sessions of the 5th Provincial Congress including the address of the General Secretary.
