SACP Gauteng strongly condemns the killing of Comrade Chris Nkosi, the SATAWU Provincial Secretary in Gauteng
14 April 2015
The SACP Gauteng Province strongly condemns the cold blooded killing of the Gauteng provincial secretary of SATAWU, comrade Chris Nkosi.
Comrade Nkosi was gunned down mafia-style in the early hours of the morning in Germiston on his way home, in what appears to be a premeditated elimination.
He was known to be respectful of the SACP and always sought guidance from the party in difficult times.
We also condemn the bombing of the family home of SATAWU President John Dube with a Molotov cocktail.
The SACP Gauteng Province takes the opportunity to convey our deepest condolences to his family, to all workers in SATAWU, the federation COSATU and the alliance in general.
We call on law enforcement authorities to act swiftly to bring to book the perpetrators of these evil crimes and to dispense of exemplary justice.
The Provincial secretary of the SACP in Gauteng comrade Jacob Mamabolo, said "political assassinations are the work of cowards, fascists and reactionary forces".
He further called for "the unity of SATAWU members and workers in general, to join hands in defending the unity of SATAWU, COSATU and the alliance".
