SACP Gauteng ready for its Provincial Congress
11 May 2015
The South Africa Communist Party (SACP) in Gauteng province held its ordinary plenary session of the 10th Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) at SAMWU office, Johannesburg on 10 May 2015.
The PEC was convened to asses the state of readiness for its forthcoming 11th provincial congress including congress reports and logistics.
The PEC acknowledged the contribution of the leadership collective of the 10th PEC, in particular their role in unifying the organisation in the province. It is mainly due to this discipline that the province has grown in leaps and bounds, in the process becoming the second biggest province of the SACP.
In this regard, the PEC was satisfied with all preparations towards congress including the reports to be presented. We are confident that the SACP in Gauteng Province approaches the 11th congress united around the Party programme.
The 11th Provincial Congress will receive keynote address by the SACP General Secretary, comrade Blade Nzimande, and inputs from Provincial leaders of the ANC, COSATU, SANCO, YCL-SA and Progressive Youth Alliance structures. Invitations have also been sent to fraternal international structures. The congress will be attended by around 536 voting delegates.
The media is invited to attend.
