SACP expresses heartfelt condolences to the Dlamini family, the Communist Party of Swaziland, the working class and progressive movement of Swaziland, for the loss encountered

29 May 2019

The South African Communist Party (SACP) has learnt with sadness of the death of Comrade Njabulo Dlamini, the International Organiser of the Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS), fondly known by his comrades as “Njefire”. Cde Njabulo passed away on Thursday 23 May 2019. The SACP conveys its deepest condolences to his family, the CPS and his union, the Swaziland National Association of Teachers. The SACP further conveys its sincerest condolences to the national workers’ federation, the Trade Union Congress of Swaziland, and the entire working class of Swaziland.

Comrade Njabulo Dlamini died young, yet his work speaks volume. The words of the people of Swaziland, expressed individually and through the various progressive forces of that country, following the announcement of his death, have already shown that, although his life was cut short, his work in the revolution was worth many lifetimes. The SACP and the working class of the entire world were also witness to his sterling contribution, especially during the 20th Meeting of the International Communist and Workers’ Parties, held in Athens, Greece, in November 2018. His death is not therefore only a loss for the people of Swaziland but for all workers of the world.

The SACP dips its red flag in honour of a life well lived, a life spent in the people’s revolution, for the emancipation of all humanity from all forms of oppression; for the socialist cause!

In his memory, the SACP will continue to materially support the efforts of the people of Swaziland for the unbanning of political parties and democracy. In Comrade Njabulo’s memory, the SACP will continue to strengthen its relationship with the CPS and all the progressive forces of Swaziland. International solidarity remains crucial in the struggle of the oppressed, regardless of who the oppressor is. It remains the duty of all freedom loving people to work hard to ensure that the memory and legacy of Comrade Njabulo Dlamini live on to inspire more generations towards freedom in Swaziland and beyond. Let the entire African continent be rid of all oppressors towards the highest phase of independence and democracy, towards socialism.
