The South African Communist Party (SACP) and its class ally the Congress of South African Trade Union (COSATU) in Gauteng have launched the second phase of the 2019 Elections Blitz which will target black and African townships.

The successful blitz, held at the Pan Africa Mall in Alexandra, was welcomed by the working people of the township who voiced their concerns with the African National Congress (ANC) led Alliance and expressed their unwavering support for the people's revolutionary movement.

The campaign started in August in the Johannesburg CBD, and moved to the Kempton Park and Tshwane CBD's in September. In October, the campaign touched the CBD's of Germiston, Randfontein and Vereeniging.

Led by SACP Provincial Secretary comrade Jacob Mamabolo, Cosatu's Deputy Chariperson comrade Thabang Sonyathi and comrade Lulamile Sibanda, Nehawu's Provincial Chairperson, volunteers took part in the campaign, listening to members of the community.

The 2019 Voter Readiness Blitz and the Red Brigades will move to Jabulani in Soweto next week to continue to urge the people to check if they appear on the voter's roll, confirm their physical address with the Independent Electoral Commission and to vote ANC in the 2019 elections.
