The Voter Readiness campaign led by the South African Communist Party (SACP) and its class ally the Congress of South African Trade Union (COSATU) in Gauteng closed on a high note for the year in Soshanguve and Mamelodi, City of Tshwane.
The outreach which kicked off in Johannesburg in August 2018 has been touching working class communities across the province, mobilising them to ready themselves to vote in the upcoming 2019 National and Provincial Elections.
In a two day programme, SACP and COSATU volunteers distributed pamphlets in Denneboom train station, Soshanguve on Saturday and continued with ground work at Mahube mall in Mamelodi today.
During the campaign SACP and COSATU volunteers engaged with the working class, urging them to check if they appear on the voter`s roll, confirm their physical addresses with the Independent Electoral Commission.
The SACP and COSATU continue to call on working class to take advantage of the upcoming voter registration weekend between the 26 and 27 of January 2019 and remain united behind the revolutionary banner led by the ANC to continue the struggle against corruption, unemployment and poverty.
The Voter Readiness Campaign and the Red Brigades will continue in the new year.
