28 March 2010
The SACP has after a series of consultations between the SACP PEC in Limpopo and the Central Committee come to a conclusion that given the challenges confronting the SACP in the province, it would be best to dissolve the current PEC and put in place an interim PEC to lead the organisational renewal process in Limpopo. The team is expected to lead the organisational renewal process which will include an intensive political education process, resuscitation of party campaigns in the province and make an assessment, in conjunction with the Central Committee, of the state of readiness for the provincial congress. Part of the mandate of the team is to establish sound working relations with alliance partners in the province.
The SACP is quite mindful that dissolving a structure has its own complications and should be a measure of last resort in the organisation. The latest intervention is however necessary in order to restore organisational functionality in the province and put the SACP at the forefront in the struggle to uplift the toiling masses of our people from the bondage of capitalism.
Issued by the SACP.
