Northern Cape SACP to march on Griekwaland Wes Ko-Operasie

The SACP in the Northern Cape will be led by the SACP National Treasurer,
Central Committee and Politburo Member cde Phillip Dexter to hand-over a memorandum to GWK on the 06 November 2004 in Douglas on the National Day of Action for Land, Food and Jobs.
The event will kick-start with a rally at the Douglas Stadium at 10h00 where Alliance Partners and broader MDM formations will give messages of support and then proceed to the Head Offices of GWK to hand over a memo to demand amongst others the following:
WE DEMAND!
- GWK to facilitate structural changes in support systems and development initiatives to assist Black South Africans in owning, establishing, participating in and running agricultural cooperatives
- Socially uplifting through a detailed social responsibility programme the dignity of the People of the Province
- Empowerment of rural and local communities to have access to agricultural economic activities, agricultural infrastructure and skills
The media fraternity is hereby invited to a press briefing to be addressed by the National Treasurer of the SACP cde Phillip Dexter, Provincial SACP and YCL leadership
An extensive press statement will be released at the press briefing to held as follows:

The statement will focus on the following
- Access to and ownership and control of productive land by the landless workers and the poor
- Access to basic services and rights for farm workers and their families
- A National Land Summit
