Computers Stolen from Limpopo Provincial Office of the SACP
06 March 2003
The South African Communist Party (SACP) condemns what it regards as a
politically motivated theft of 3 computers from its Limpopo Provincial
Office last night.
The theft of the computers, which have important documents and membership
information, is not honest.
Given that the thieves had unlimited access to our office and the items
stolen, this theft is not an ordinary crime. If it was an ordinary crime,
the thieves would have also stolen the cheque book and the large number of
SACP jackets, t-shirts and other material sold by the SACP. This theft is a repeat of the September 2001 theft of 2 computers and documents form our
KwaZulu Natal Provincial Office.
We will refuse any kind of intimidation and we will defend our ideals and
property.
Already, the South African Police Service (SAPS) is investigating this
crime. We call on all those who may have information about this crime to
come forward with information to the SACP and the SAPS.
