Blade Nzimande to Address Eastern Cape SACP Provincial Congress

The General Secretary of the South African Communist Party (SACP), Comrade
Blade Nzimande, will deliver the Keynote Address to the 3rd Provincial
Congress of the SACP in the Eastern Cape Province as detailed below.

DATE : Friday, 24 August 2001

TIME : 16h00 - 17h00

VENUE : Main Hall, All Saints College, Bisho

The Congress will continue until Sunday, 26 August. This Congress takes
place immediately after the SACP celebrated its 80th Anniversary and it is
being held in the midst of mass mobilisation for the COSATU-led General
Strike Against Privatisation.

This Congress will shape our SACP Programme in the Eastern Cape to fight
neo-liberal economic restructuring and for a people's economy, said Phumulo
Masualle, SACP Eastern Cape Provincial Secretary.

In the Congress Agenda are the following items:

• Taking forward the Campaign to Make Banks Serve the People
• Taking forward the struggle against racism
• Building People+IBk-s Power and Socialism Now
• Transformation of the Eastern Cape economy
