Aluta Continua Limpopo!
20 May 2014
The SACP Limpopo Province Officials held a meeting on Sunday, 18th May 2014. The SACP National Organiser Mhlekwa Nxumalo who is visiting the province also formed part of the meeting. The focus of the meeting was to appraise the SACPs role, performance and impact during the recent election campaign.
Firstly, the SACP salutes the workers, the rural and the urbanised working class for their overwhelming vote for the ANC and the Alliance.
This demonstrated beyond doubt that the ANC, COSATU and SACP are not only popular but also rooted among the workers and the rural masses of Limpopo Province. Despite failed sabotage of the ANC and the Alliance election campaign by a wealthy clique of demagogues characterised by crass materialism and opulence within the NUMSA, our workers supported the ANC and the Alliance campaign massively and decisively especially in Limpopo Province.
The SACP is humbled by the centrality of many a communist cadre who poured out their all and remain a live wire of the ANC and the Alliance election campaign in Limpopo Province. During the election campaign the SACPs Red Brigades have proven that the duty of communists in taking the responsibility for the national democratic revolution in the current phase of radical socio-economic transformation, which is rabidly contested by the bourgeoisie who are the class enemy of the working class, is to remain deeply rooted among the workers in all sites of struggle. The election campaign was one such site of struggle that the SACP Red Brigades took seriously.
Secondly, the SACP Limpopo Province decided to consolidate problems raised by communities and households visited during door to door campaign. The consolidation will be done on area and community specific approach. Thereafter, these will essentially be integrated into our South African Road to Socialism programme (SARS) Thus lay the basis for continuum of our programmes post elections period.
The SACPs observation during the election campaign is that there already exists solution to most of the problems raised by the working class communities. What is urgently required is a committed and incorruptible cadre of public service and officials in the provincial and local government spheres of governance to realise a speedy provisioning of quality services for the working class communities as a matter of priority.
The SACP will ensure and strengthen efforts for adequate responses to the problems as raised by working within the working class communities jointly with our Alliance partners. This forms part of SACPs approach of not shying away from participating in legislative processes while at the same time occupying the streets picketing and marching.
The significance of unity of outlook among the ANC, COSATU and SACP is the guarantor for the fulfilment of our election manifesto. However this unity will require joint practical work on the ground to rebuild the province from the ashes of despair and uplift the socio economic conditions of the working class.
This will among other things require decisive action to root out all counter-revolutionary tendencies that are found within some municipalities, provincial departments, not excluding the PECs, RECs and BEC structures of the movement who are actively collaborating with the so-called Economic Freedom Fighters in syphoning public resources to sponsor counter-revolutionary causes.
In this connection, the next campaigns of the SACP Limpopo Province will focus on eradicating corruption and maladministration in all municipalities and provincial departments before 2016.
The SACP Limpopo Province will immediately embark on campaigns for the removal of those public representatives in municipalities and provincial departments who are compromising the fight against corruption and maladministration.
"As the SACP our support for the ANC is not a blank cheque " meaning that Aluta Continua in Limpopo Province for decisive and radical socio-economic transformation in the interest of the rural masses and the working class. This will be a grand way of recognising working class electoral support!
The SACP Limpopo Province will during the month of May launch the Financial Services Sector Campaign for the transformation of the financial sector, organise Moses Kotane commemorative activities across the province and also begin to prepare for the district congresses and 2016 Local Government Elections.
The SACP Limpopo Province encourages hard work to all ANC and the Alliance candidates who made it to provincial and national legislatures for the term ahead.
