The SACP in the Brian Bunting district warmly welcome the outcomes of today`s bail application against the murderer of Noluvo Swelindawo. The murder is denied bail by our court after he (the accused and lawyer) elected to abandon the bail application. As the SACP, we are confident that even if they proceeded the accused was going to lose on the basis amongst other things the Party submitted its petition to the Public Prosecutor and the South African Police Service.
The petition is composed of signatures from the Driftsands community and the surroundings.
The outcome of this bail application sends a strong message to all criminals out there that no one can commit crime and walk free. We call on all sections in society to be aggressive against thugs and criminals.
The outcomes of today`s bail application can be characterised as our first advance in the struggle for justice in this murder case of Noluvo Swelindawo. The Party shall continue mobilising our people for the trial so that this heartless murderer ultimately receive the harshest sentence and rot in jail.
On the one hand, vanguard Party of the working class further calls on the police to expedite the arrest of the remaining suspects. And the Party further calls on the Driftsands community to come out and notify the police about the remaining suspects because they are known and still live in the community.
