26 November 2016
The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Brian Bunting District (Cape Town Metro) condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the dastardly killing of a female police officer in a brazen shooting on 22 November 2016 in Phillipi East, Cape Town. The SACP in the District would like to convey its deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the late Constable Amanda Ladlokova.
The Vanguard Party calls on law enforcement agencies to leave no stone unturned until the perpetrators of this act are brought to book and ultimately receive the harshest sentence. To those who might have witnessed the act or might have any information on the shooting, we ask them to immediately contact the South African Police Service.
The SACP in the District further calls on the broader community of Phillipi to close ranks and reclaim our communities from these heartless criminals. Incidences such as this bring to the fore the need to revive active street committees, to strengthen sector policing and community policing forums which remain a cornerstone of people`s participation in organs of power.
The Party in the Brian Bunting district is currently considering organising a march as a means to actively reclaim our communities from rampant criminality that has overrun our streets. As it stands, this brutal criminality that preys on the vulnerability of our police pose a serious threat to our revolution.
