The SACP march to the Banks and the government

The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Joe Gqabi District, Eastern Cape will lead the march to the big banks and the Eastern Cape provincial government.

The SACP march will be held to demand the 'transformation of the banks to serve the people' and the provincial government to deliver'basic services for all'.

We will be demanding amongst other things that the banks stop the following:

• Reckless lending
• Eviction of families from their homes.
• Mortgaging people with the 20 year bonds.
• Mortgaging SASSA beneficiaries with unsecure loans.
We are calling on the government to:

• Speed up infrastructure delivery.
• Deliver the basic services for all.
• Put a moratorium on the closure of schools.
• Employ security personnel and admin clerks in all the public schools.
• Capacitate all the public healthcare facilities.
• Fill all funded vacant posts in the department of health.
• Act swiftly against corruption.
• Act swiftly against the stock theft.
