30 October 2015
The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Western Cape Province mourns the passing away of Comrade Siphiwo Nditha. Comrade Nditha passed away Wednesday, 28th October 2015, having spent a year in a military hospital in Cape Town.
As the SACP in the Western Cape, we would like to convey our deepest condolences to Comrade Nditha`s family and friends. To all the Comrades that had the privilege to know and serve with Comrade Siphiwo, we express our solidarity and dip our Red Banner low in this period of remembrance.
Cde Nditha`s unfortunate death came after a prolonged treatment from an injury sustained after being attacked at an ANC meeting in Ward 96 in the Dullar Omar region, Western Cape. Comrade Nditha was a dedicated member of the Albertina Sisulu SACP branch in Makhaza Khayelitsha. He was also former uMkhonto weSizwe soldier, who devoted his life to the liberation of the South African people. It, therefore, pains the Party that this patriot and devotee of the National Democratic Revolution has passed on after a prolonged suffering as a result of the actions of vicious thugs.
We call upon the Khayelitsha police to continue their investigation into the attack that led to his prolonged suffering and ultimately his death and ensure that these thugs are brought to book.
We call upon the ANC to act against thugs masquerading as activists that have robbed the movement one of its loyal servant. The ANC must rid this leading formation of our liberation alliance of t?hugs who are also power hungry. The ANC needs to set an example and ensure justice for Nditha`s family, community and the movement as a whole.
