The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Western Cape wishes to congratulate the beneficiaries of the national housing project implemented in the province and expresses sincere gratitudes to the ANC-led government for initiating this progressive project.
Today, Thursday, 15 October 2015, the President of the Republic of South Africa, Comrade Jacob Zuma visited the community of Langa to handover N2 Gateway houses. Thus far, approximately 14 000 houses have been built since 2004 with the project aiming at building another 22 000 houses to be completed in 2017.
The N2 Gateway Project has changed the lives of many people and has provided shelter, security and comfort to thousands of residents of Langa. Prior to this progressive housing programme, Langa had continuously fallen victim to the seasonal tragedies our working class communities have become accustomed to, especially shack fires, all because of DA`s don`t care attitude towards the poor.
