The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Brian Bunting (Cape Metro) note with concern what seem to be a coordinated offensive onslaught against the police by heinous criminals.
The most recent manifestation of this offensive onslaught against the police is yesterday`s`,( 06 August 2015) shooting of Warrant Officer Herman Prins in a car wash, Mitchells Plain while he was off-duty and without uniform.
This follows the brutal murder of Warrant officer Petrus Holz who was attacked by knife assailants while fixing his tyre puncher. This clearly demonstrates the offensive nature of these criminals in our society.
Furthermore, the vulnerability of our police to heartless criminals poses a serious threat to the security our people.
We encourage the police never be intimidated but fight ruthlessly against these criminals, and we urge our society to defend the police.
As the SACP, we urge our society to defend our police because if the killings of police officers persist we will have lawlessness in our communities. Thus, we strongly believe that based on its success Operation Fiela should continue.
