The SACP in Gert Sibande District, Mpumalanga Province mourns the death of Comrade Bhekithemba Reginald Ngubane (Zuma) who was also the father to Comrade Nhlakanipho Zuma, the District Secretary of the SACP in Gert Sibande District.
Comrade Reggie is one of our Party stalwarts from who the young generation has a lot to emulate. He has been in the SACP for a long time, and has among others worked very closely with former General Secretary of the Party, Comrade Chris Hani. Comrade Reggie was a very principled leader, dedicated communist and an activist who remained very loyal to the cause and struggle of the working class. He prioritised serving the working class and the Party at the grassroots level despite the fact that he could have led at upper structures of our movement. At the time when he ceased to breathe on Sunday 14 December 2014 after a long illness he was SACP Secretary for Sunrise Voting District Branch in Govan Mbeki Sub-District.
The SACP in the District lowers its banner in honour of this very humble servant and hero of the people, a role model to many in the entire working class movement. We will remember Comrade Reggie for his dedication and commitment to the struggle for national liberation and socialism.
The SACP wishes to pass its most profound condolences to the family, comrades in the Branch and most particular our District Secretary Comrade Nhlakanipho Zuma. We wish to confirm that you are not alone in this period of grief but we are indeed with you.
A memorial service will be held on Friday 19 December 2014 and he will be laid to rest on December 21, 2014 at Embalenhle in Govan Mbeki at service venues that are still to be confirmed.
