The South African Communist Party congratulates its Young Communist League for holding a successful Fourth National Congress. The Congress was held at the University of the Western Cape from December 10th--14th under the theme `Intensifying Youth Mobilisation for Socialism. This Congress was historic in many ways, as well as peaceful, robust and reach in democratic discussion.
The SACP wishes the entire newly elected National Committee success throughout its term of office. The newly elected National Committee is by National Office Bearers National Secretary Mluleki Dlelanga, National Chairperson Yershen Pillay, National Treasurer Lolo Senne, Deputy National Secretary Isaac Lithuli and Deputy National Chairperson Joyce Tsipa.
The SACP is looking forward to intensified youth mobilisation for socialism by the Young Communist League, and will continue to provide political guidance through its programmes and policies as well as continuous political education. The Communist Party is further looking forward to the Young Communist League leading its role in building the Progressive Youth Alliance and deepening focus in rallying the youth in general and young workers in particular to take activist involvement in our struggle to resolve the contradictions and challenges facing the South African society. These challenges impact mostly on young people as our population is significantly made up by the youth.
