SACP saddened by the deaths of Meyiwa and Mulaudzi

27 October 2014

The South African Communist Party (SACP) is gravely saddened by the deaths that occurred this past weekend, of two of our country`s finest athletes, Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa who was shot dead last night at around 20h00 in Vosloorus, Gauteng Province, and Olympic Medallist Mbulaheni Mulaudzi who died on Friday in a car crash on the R555 between Ogies and Emalahleni, Mpumalanga Province. The SACP sends its deepest condolences to the families, friends, colleagues and the country as a whole for the great loss suffered, of irreplaceable talent and sorely of loved ones.

The SACP calls on the Police to leave no stone unturned and to ensure that the criminals who killed Meyiwa are arrested and brought to book. These criminals should have no place in our society - once they are arrested a successful prosecution must follow, and maximum sentences must be imposed.
