The South African Communist Party (SACP) condemns DA`s Mike Waters`s racist derogatory tweet likening likening ANC voters to dogs urinating on the ANC poster with the photo of ANC`s campaign face of President Jacob Zuma. The DA`s automatic acceptance of Mike Waters`s apology without regard the masses of our people and the President who are being insulted is nothing but a whitewash and smokescreen for racism.
The SACP says our Parliament is not a place for racism and racists, and calls on Mike Waters to resign failure to which the DA must show seriousness and remove him as a public representative.
In South Africa, racism was forged and imposed as a lever and system of class exploitation, profiteering and the accumulation of wealth on a private basis. Thus white privilege in South Africa, which is what the DA stands for, is therefore not only a racist project but fundamentally a class project based on the national oppression of the overwhelming majority of our people. As the first non-racial formation in South Africa, the Communist Party will spear head and support all avenues to uproot racism in our society, including taking the racist tweet by Mike Waters to the Human Rights Commission.
