SACP NW PROVINCE welcomes and supports the appointment of comrade Supra Mahumapelo as the Premier, and in this regard, conveys our word of congratulation and wishes him revolutionary strength and organizational tolerance. SACP believes that his appointment marks a decisive turning point of NW province as the platinum hub of our country, and the whole world.
SACP believes that the appointment of comrade Supra Mahumapelo will reposition the province to consolidate, deepen and advance the National Democratic Revolution (NDR). ANC-led Alliance now has the opportunity to exercise and use state power to move the country and province forward. We welcome his declared intension to adopt a Triple R approach in changing how the Province is viewed and projected- meaning Rebranding, Repositioning and Renewal- as the Party we will wait for the Premier to elaborate on the programme and make our organizational contribution on the programmes nature and character.
SACP is deeply pleased that the appointment of comrade Mahumapelo moves us closer to end once for all the tendency to elevate state organs above the ANC-led Alliance as the only centre of power. SACP believes that the days of sheer parallelism, paralysis, "bargaining" and or ``lobbying" between state and ANC-led Alliance are fading deep into the past. We now can safely pronounce without fear of any contradiction that the ANC lives and the ANC leads.
SACP wishes to thank the leadership collective under President Jacob Zuma for placing NW province on the path of unity, qualitative renewal and decisive turnaround to improve the living conditions of the overwhelming majority of the working class and poor. We call on all members of the ANC, structures and Alliance members with their structures to ensure that we desist and reject any temptation to continue with factionalism and political in-fighting in the Province; this moment should be used as sacred and revolutionary way towards the Unity and Cohesion in our Province.
SACP also congratulates and welcomes the appointment of comrade Suzan Tsebe and Sis Jane Manganyi as the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the North West Legislature respectively. We also appreciate the swift move by the ANC to deploy Sis Thandi Modise to NCOP, this move may help unite the Province and serve as the political indication of ANC`s organizational care about its cadres.
As the SACP NW, we would refer the Premier to quotation from Chairman Mao as a revolutionary guide during his term. Defining a Cadre, Mao said, "They must be proletarian statesmen capable of uniting and working together with the overwhelming majority. Not only must unite those who agree with them, they must also be good at uniting those who disagree and even with those who formally opposed them and have since been proved wrong in practice. But they must especially watch for careerists and conspirators and prevent leadership of the Party and the state at all levels".
