SACP bemoan the passing on of Comrade Reggie September

25 November 2013, Cape Town

The South African Communist Party (SACP) Western Cape Province is extremely saddened by the passing of one the great revolutionaries in our liberation struggle - Comrade Reggie September, who departed last Friday.

The Party would like to express its collective condolences to the September family in this trying time. Comrade Reggie joined the liberation movement at the young age of 15, influenced and mentored by two of our most prominent Communists of the time Comrades Moses Kotane and James La Guma.

Comrade Reggie later became a vibrant trade union leader, a founder member and General Secretary of the South African Coloured People`s Organization and a leader in the SACP and the ANC.

The SACP in the Province is proud to have Comrade Reggie served and led in the ranks of our Party and movement. Comrade Reggie leaves a powerful legacy of dedication and discipline in serving the needs of the working class and poor.

His 90 years of life experience will be a perpetual reminder of the sacrifice of one of the dedicated cadres for the needs of the many. His selfless dedication towards the liberation of South Africa against racist and capitalist oppression will never be forgotten.
