SACP intervention in Malamulele brings normality

21 October 2013, Johannesburg

The South African Communist Party (SACP) successfully intervened in Malamulele (Limpopo province). Malamulele was affected by protest in support of a local municipality in the area. The protest brought almost everything including schooling and work to a standstill, which would have led to negative consequences for learners, who started their exams today, for workers, whose jobs could have been jeopardised, and for other sectors.

“It is significant to acknowledge that the situation has come back to normality starting today, children are back to school and workers are back to work after the stakeholder meeting that we had”, said SACP Second Deputy General Secretary Solly Mapaila.

The SACP will continue to work with the community to ensure that the issues they raise are resolved amicably.
