The South African Communist Party (SACP) in Skenjana Roji District welcomes the report of Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality on the improvement in the expenditure of Infrastructure Grant Aid as the step in a right direction.
The improvement from 38 percent to 68 percent shows a lot of greater improvement, and it vindicates us as the SACP in the district on our call for the support of the City Manager; who with his administration has been doing fairly well. We also commend the leadership of officials as led by the City Manager on their hard work in making sure that the people of Buffalo City Metro are benefiting improving their lives.
As we welcome this improvement on the expenditure we want to caution the Municipality that this improvement must be seen in our people and it must improve their conditions as we have the installation of electricity in the informal settlement.
It has been our view that the without a political stability on our Council we cannot have service delivery to our communities hence we commend this improvement by the municipality. The SACP is calling to all MDM structures to quickly assist the municipality in finding the everlasting solution on the challenge of illegal occupation on the houses in Duncan Village and Reestoon. We should all as the organs of Mass Democratic Movement work together in combating all forms of corruption for the benefit of the workers and the poor.
We call upon those who are appointed to construct the infrastructure of the City to give a proper service and they must not focus only on getting money but to make it sure that what they task to do it must last for the long time and it must not comprise our people. We appreciate the sterling work that is done by the officials of the city in improving the lives of the poor people. We would like to caution the BCMM administration to guard against tenderpreneurs who share no interest of the people at heart but only interested in lining their pocket.
We have noted also that there is a report that says the improvement on the expenditure is not the true reflection of what is happening on the ground, we want to denounce that notion and clearly state that these are acts of the business cartels and right wing demagogy`s who wants to discredit the leadership of the alliance and of the City Manager. We call upon the citizens of buffalo City to defend the leadership of our municipality and rally behind it in making sure that we realize better life for all.
We commit ourselves as the SACP in Skenjana Roji to work tirelessly with everyone in combating corruption and ensuring the high velocity in service delivery to our people.
