SACP JB Marks District Mourns the Sudden Death of Cde Nkosiphendule Kolisile

22 July 2013

The South African Communist Party in the JB Marks District of the North West Province expresses its shock and sadness at the passing on of one of the most steeled revolutionaries of our time, comrade Nkosiphendule Kolisile who perished in a tragic car crash over the past weekend.

His untimely death has robbed our nation of one of its most committed, loyal and selfless communist cadre who at all material times dedicated his energy, his youth and early adult years in the service of our people and the revolution.

Comrade Kolisile was a fearless, outspoken, brave and courageous activist whose invaluable contribution was beyond measure and unparalleled. We will remember him for his ever militant posture as secretary of the SACP Yusuf Dadoo District when he led many mass campaigns, in particular the struggle of the Khutsong community against the incorporation of Merafong municipality into the North West province.

He worked tirelessly during the re-establishment of the Young Communist League of South Africa as one of its founding national executive members and later led the SACP in Gauteng as provincial chairperson. Indeed he was an organic intellectual and an uncompromising Marxist of note.

In his short tenure as Gauteng MEC for Economic Development, Cde Nkosiphendule worked vigorously and diligently, true to his character as a communist cadre by dedicating much of his energy towards supporting and nurturing small survivalist traders and co-operatives in order for them to have a share in arguably the biggest economy on the African continent.

The loss of this young gem of our movement who was also of late the deputy regional chair of the ANC in the West Rand, has certainly left a deep void in our ranks. We shall miss him dearly and forever value his outstanding contribution to the revolution during his short yet productive life.

The SACP in the JB Marks District extends condolences and deep sympathies to his wife, children, relatives, friends and comrades during these difficult times.

We dip the red flag in his honour!
