SACP Moses Mabhida Province Welcomes KZN Premier Dr Zl Mkhize’s State Of The Province Address

22 February 2012

The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Moses Mabhida province welcomes KwaZulu-Natal Premier Dr Zweli Mkhize’s State of the Province address as a progressive speech which compliments President Jacob Zuma’s state of the Nation address delivered just less than a fortnight ago.

The SACP was particularly impressed with the focus on agrarian revolution, the emphasis on infrastructure development, determination to improve provision of quality healthcare and education to all the people of the province especially the working class and the poor.

The SACP believes that the announcements made by Mkhize will go a long way in solving the triple challenge of poverty, unemployment and inequality.

These announcements, particularly on agrarian revolution, coupled with His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini’s announcement of the establishment of the Ingonyama Rural Development Forum which will look at ways of unlocking the developmental potential of tribal owned land – will go a long way in empowering the poorest of the poor.

The SACP would like to caution the provincial government to be on the look-out against some corrupt tenderpreneurs who are already lining their pockets to enrich themselves through these projects while depriving the majority of workers and the poor much needed developmental projects.

If these projects would be carried out with the involvement and participation of all sectors of our society they will make a meaningful impact towards eradication of poverty, unemployment and thereby bridging the gap between the haves and the have nots.
