SACP hosts an International Seminar on imperialism

7 October 2011

The SACP and Correspondence International will jointly host an International Seminar on the subject of Imperialism on the 08-09 October 2010 at the Parktonian Hotel in Johannesburg. The theme of the seminar is “The deepening crisis of Imperialism and its manoeuvres, what options for the left in building an alternative world”. The seminar originates out of a range of common initiatives between parties and the class oriented International Communist and workers movement, in seeking to deepen our Marxist-Leninist thinking regarding the changes in the capitalism system and struggles of the working people throughout the world.

The conference will systematically look into various theories regarding the international situation today and how the validity of the Marxist-Leninist theory of imperialism is retained by current developments.

It will also identify the necessary tasks, by working class forces, to understand and struggle against a very common bourgeois driven social, economic and political phenomena, to smash workers incomes, to attack their livelihoods and respond to capital`s location of profit motives, as overriding to millions of the poor people throughout the world.

Participants from about 20 countries from Africa, Europe, Latin America, Asia will take part in the seminar, including the alliance partners and the local trade union movement. The seminar will be addressed by a range international Marxist scholars from communist and workers parties, as well as left movements from other parts of the world.

The SACP invites interested formations and individuals, the media and institutes to participate. To RSVP, we encourage those interested to contact the organisers at Email: international@sacp.org.za, Tel: 011-339 3621
