The SACP Brian Bunting District (Cape Metro) support SATAWU Strike in Cape Town

24 June 2011

The vanguard of the working class, the SACP Brian Bunting district fully support the security strike currently underway by workers affiliated to South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (Satawu). In our message as the SACP, we would like to make it clear that our struggle was never about a colour of skin but about an exploiting system, capitalism. Now, workers must be resolute and firm on their struggle irrespective of the skin colour of their bosses till their demands are met.

As the vanguard Party in the Brian Bunting District, we therefore call upon all security workers working for Prasa in Cape Town in particular to down tools in solidarity with Chuma security workers. The slogan "An injury to One is an Injury to All" must find expression in this struggle and we are saying it must not be the way around, `An Injury to One an Advantage to others`.

We are also inviting our membership from Monday 27th June 2011 to support this strike in their Red Caps, T-Shirts and banners.
