SACP message to the Gaza rally

Dear Comrades

I wish to convey warm revolutionary greetings on behalf of the Central Committee of the 12th National Congress of the South African Communist Party (SACP), the vanguard of the South African working class.

We thank the Palestine Solidarity Alliance and all fraternal parties here today, for the invitation to join you in receiving and to warmly welcome our comrades, brothers and sisters from an outstanding internationalist and solidarity mission.

This South African deputation, took a correct, principled and courageous stand and travelled to Gaza in December 2009 to provide revolutionary internationalist solidarity support with the peoples of Palestine.

The South African Communist Party supports the basis of your important mission to Gaza and the march of 2009.

We strongly believe the mission was conceived in defence of the principles of internationalism, anti-imperialism, anti-colonialism, to decolonise all Palestinian lands and to put an end to the cycle of aggression, related to “New Middle East “imperialist experiment.

This is a dangerous ideological project by powerful imperialist forces, who wish to restructure the entire region to retain complete ownership, control and domination of the region’s energy and natural resources.

As we remember the aggressive slaughter of Palestinian women and children, through a carefully designed Operation Cast Lead in 2008-2009 by Israel, we join forces with you in;

• Our salute of the resistance by all Palestinians national forces in favour of democracy and freedom for their own country
• We call for national unification of all the people of Palestine against the occupying regional gendarme and its policy of genocide and state terrorism
• We denounce Israel’s impervious attitude, that ignores international calls for peace by the violent expansion of settlements, the maintenance of illegal and racist apartheid wall and the denial of Palestinians of their basic rights to freedom and independence
• We furthermore call on all South Africans, to unite against this racists colonial and apartheid state and strengthen the forces of internationalism and solidarity.
• We call for strong cooperation, mobilisation of our people for sanctions, boycott campaigns to accelerate the process to decolonise Palestine

We salute you on your dedication to eliminate the slaughter of Palestinians which is a gross violation and the gravest danger to world peace.

The SACP will receive and engage with your report and give it the highest consideration.
